Fahad Mustafa was born into a Sindhi family in Karachi, Pakistan. His father, Salahuddin Tunio, is a well-known Sindhi actor; he has two brothers and one sister. He first enrolled in a doctor of pharmacy program at Karachi’s Baqai Medical University but dropped out before completing his studies.
In 2006, Fahad Mustafa married Pakistani writer Sana Fahad. The couple has two children: a son born in January 2016 and a girl born in April 2011.
Career
Fahad Mustafa was initially spotted in Sheeshay Ka Mahal. He started working in television production in 2008. His other prominent television serials include Yeh Zindagi Hai, Haal-e-Dil, Bahu Rani, Ae Dasht-e-Junoon, Masuri, Aashti, Pul Siraat, Mastana Mahi, Main Abdul Qadir Hoon, and Koi Nahi Apna. He has been the host of the popular game show Jeeto Pakistan since 2014.
He presented the inaugural Hum Awards ceremony in Karachi in 2013 and the second ARY Film Awards in Dubai in 2016. In 2017, he presided over the inaugural ceremony for the Karachi Kings, a Pakistan Super League club franchise. He then hosted the opening ceremony for the 2017 Pakistan Super League in Dubai.
He made his cinematic debut in 2014 with Nabeel Qureshi’s Na Maloom Afraad. It was declared a box-office success. In 2016, he appeared in Anjum Shahzad’s Mah e Mir and Qureshi’s Actor In Law. Actor in Law performed admirably at the box office, winning Film of the Year at the 16th Lux Style Awards, where Fahad also received the Best Actor Award for his portrayal in the film. He then voiced a character in Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s animated film 3 Bahadur: The Revenge of Baba Balaam. In 2018, he appeared in Nadeem Baig’s Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 and Qureshi’s Load Wedding, both of which were released on the same day, August 22, 2018.
He will also produce three films: the first, Anjum Shehzad’s Band Toh Ab Bajay Ga, written by Yasir Hussain; the second, written by Ali Imran under the ARY Films label; and a third, the details of which have yet to be released.
