Mir planned to go to Toronto but instead chose to return to Pakistan to work in film and television.
Ahad Raza Mir began auditioning for Hum TV’s production house, MD Productions, in 2017 and was cast as a lead in Yaqeen Ka Safar, where he played Dr. Asfand Yaar, a grieving brother with Sajal Aly and Hira Mani. He then played a supporting role in the social drama Sammi, opposite Mawra Hocane. His performance garnered him the Lux Style Award for Best Actor, as well as three Hum Awards, including Best Actor.
Ahad was accused of nepotism due to his family’s influence in the film industry. Mir responded to such charges by saying that he wants “people to take [him] as an actor very seriously” and that he is “here to give Pakistan some good cinema and TV”.
In 2018, Ahad made his Coke Studio debut as a featured artist in the eleventh season, performing the song “Ko Ko Korina” with Momina Mustehsan.
